UFC 310: Movsar Evloev vs. Aljamain Sterling

Round 1: The fight begins with immediate pressure from Sterling. A nice body kick lands for Sterling, followed by a right hook. Another round kick to the body for the former bantamweight champion. Evloev has to get something off and starts pressuring Sterling toward the fence, landing a low kick.

Sterling lands with an overhand right and ducks under a counter, securing a bodylock. He turns the corner and gets Evloev to the mat. Evloev immediately works on getting back to his feet, but Sterling is behind him with back control. Evloev scoots toward the fence, but Sterling maintains his grip.

Evloev remains on the mat, with Sterling hooking one of his legs to set up a body triangle. Evloev has one of Sterling's hands trapped, though, so he can't do much else. Evloev ries to roll out of position but Sterling lifts and slams him. However, Evloev gets back to his feet and briefly secures Sterling's back.

Sterling fights to get to his feet and Evloev takes him down with authority, securing top control. Evloev with wrist-control, but a wild scramble ensues toward the end. 10-9 Sterling

Round 2: Sterling shoots and secures an easy double-leg takedown. They're against the fence and Evloev is already working toward a stand-up. Evloev scrambles back to his feet and ends up on top of Sterling. He's in side control, landing some ground-and-pound.

Sterling tries to roll out, but Evloev slides into top mount. Another scramble ensues and Evloev secures back control. Sterling is rolling frequently, trying to scramble out of position and he does, exploding back to his feet. Evloev, though, pins him to the fence with an over-underhook.

The unbeaten Russian drops down for a takedown but Sterling defends. They break and start trading. Evloev catches a Sterling kick and lands a big right hand, converting it into a takedown. He's in side control now but Sterling shifts his hips and he's back in half-guard.

Sterling tries to scramble, but Evloev mounts his back. More scrambles and Evloev uses an underhook to maintain a dominant position. But Sterling won't be deterred and continues forcing transitions and is now on a single-leg. Evloev snaps him down though. 10-9 Evloev

Round 3: Low kick from Sterling. Both men partially land right hands. Evloev lunges in with a spinning back-fist, but Sterling ducks under it to secure a sneaky takedown. Evloev immediately locks in a front headlock and is trying to work to his feet against the fence. The action stalls for a moment along the fence.

Evloev forces a standup but Sterling slams him back down. Evloev, though, stands up back seconds later. Sterling has him pinned against the fence, and scores another takedown. But Evloev scrambles out and ends up on top. Sterling butt-scopps to the fence, but Evloev is landing ground-and-pound.

Evloev mounts Sterling's back. The former champion tries to scramble but ends up giving Evloev a more dominant position. Evloev is outgrappling him now, mounting his back and landing hammer-fists to end the round. 10-9 Evloev
